Mastering the 2016 TNI Standard: A Practical Guide for Environmental Laboratory Accreditation and Compliance

Achieving and maintaining accreditation requires more than understanding the requirements of the 2016 TNI Standard—it requires effectively integrating those requirements into daily laboratory operations, quality management practices, and technical activities. This comprehensive workshop provides environmental laboratory professionals with a practical roadmap for implementing the critical requirements of the 2016 TNI Volume 1 Standard, with a focus on Module 1 (Proficiency Testing) and Module 2 (Quality System General Requirements). Participants will learn how the standard supports accreditation, strengthens laboratory performance, and ensures the generation of technically valid and defensible analytical data. Through instructor-led discussions, real-world examples, implementation strategies, and practical exercises, attendees will gain a clear understanding of how TNI requirements apply to laboratory management, personnel competency, quality assurance, data integrity, document control, corrective action, internal audits, risk reduction, and continual improvement. Participants will leave with actionable tools and proven approaches to:
  1. Interpret and apply TNI requirements with confidence
  2. Identify and address compliance gaps before assessments occur
  3. Strengthen laboratory quality management systems
  4. Improve audit readiness and accreditation outcomes
  5. Enhance data integrity and technical defensibility
  6. Support continual improvement throughout laboratory operations
Whether your laboratory is pursuing initial accreditation, preparing for a surveillance assessment, responding to findings, or seeking to improve quality system effectiveness, this course provides the practical knowledge and implementation guidance necessary to build and maintain a compliant, audit-ready, and high-performing environmental laboratory.
