This course introduces the participants to risk-based thinking from an international standards perspective. The participant will learn risk concepts from ISO 31000 and ISO 9000 and become familiar with industry tools used to assess and manage risk in the ISO conformity assessment arena.

Virtual delivery:  Laptop (PC or Mac), PDF reader, Microsoft Excel (if desired) – all exercises are in PDF for manual entry, too.

This workshop is intended for audiences whose responsibilities include identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and mitigating risks for any type of management system (focus on ISO/IEC 17025):

Learning Outcomes

After successful completion of the course, the participant will be able to:

  1. From memory, identify and describe the three components identified in ISO/IEC 17025:2017 that drive customer confidence.
  2. Given a diagram of the process approach, describe the components
  3. Define risk
  4. Describe the 3 components of a risk assessment
  5. Identify the 4 phases of risk management
  6. Given various tools for identifying and evaluating risk, apply the tools under given scenarios

** Learners are required to bring a copy of ISO 31000:2018 to class
